Chloe Franken-Ututalum, President / CEO
Chloe Franken-Ututalum started SOPHI in 2008 and has spearheaded business development for the company. Prior to working in the call center industry, she started her career as a writer and dabbled in PR and marketing for various international clients, such as Martin Print Australia, Bare International, and Marketing Bump. Chloe graduated with a degree in Mass Communications from Silliman University. She is certified in Marketing Communication from the Asian Institute of Journalism and Communication and completed a course in International Teamwork and Communication from L'Université Catholique de Lille. She is currently taking her MBA at the Ateneo Graduate School of Business.
Chloe's multicultural background (Filipino/Dutch/Chinese) has fostered her love of travel. Her goal is to backpack with her husband all over the globe and scuba dive in the Great Barrier Reef. They share four dogs, and if they could, would tag them along for the adventure.
Anna-Marie Sienes joined the pioneer team at SOPHI in 2008. Her previous experience in the call center industry was with Convergys, handling customer service for Sprint. Anna graduated with bachelor degrees in Political Science and Law at SIlliman University. She is a licensed lawyer and is also a guest lecturer at Foundation University, teaching Business Law.
Anna loves to spend time with her little daughter. She likes ice cream whenever she's stressed. However, she enjoys long conversations over coffee. She prefers coffee over ice cream now, which according to her "comes with age."
Shelley Teves has been working as an HR practitioner since 2004. She loves working with people and her experience includes previous employment at Spi Global and Foundation University. Shelley graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy degree at Silliman University. She also completed Medical Assistance training at Andon College. With a thirst for learning, Shelley has completed a secretarial course and basic programming training.
Born and raised in Dumaguete, Shelley is American but Filipino at heart. She enjoys traveling with her big family: two sons, six step-children, and a whopping 9 grandchildren! Shelley is a homebody and enjoys reading, cooking, and making simple craft projects.
Cherryl Precedinis, Human Resources Manager
Cherryl Precedinis' experience in customer service started in the hospitality industry as a travel specialist for Expedia at People Support. Prior to joining the pioneer team at SOPHI in 2008, Cherryl taught at a local high school. She graduated with a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Silliman University. In addition, Cherryl has studied law at both Silliman University and Foundation University.
Cherryl is married with one baby boy. She has a knack for arts and crafts, spending her free time enjoying art journaling, coloring books, and cross stitching. Cherryl is also SOPHI's resident baker, as she makes the yummiest cupcakes and desserts. And if you want any book recommendations, Cherryl is a certified bookworm who can recommend a good book in a second!
Leonard Sun joined SOPHI in 2014. Prior to joining the team, Leonard spent a huge chunk of his career as a Database Manager and IT Supervisor at one of Dumaguete's largest construction companies, G Uymatiao Jr. Construction. Leonard now serves Sophi with all the skills he’s accumulated and keeps Sophi’s networks humming smoothly. He’s experiences also makes dabbles with the Architectural design of the office, the electrical layout and a ‘jack-of-all trade’ needed in our start-up friendly culture.
Additionally, Leonard loves to cook, play video games, and tries to get fit doing cross fit.
Christie Flor Baya, Finance and Administrative Officer
Christie Flor Baya is no stranger to numbers. She has worked as a bookkeeper for more than 20 years. Together with her career in bookkeeping, she also worked as a customer service representative at Teletech for almost a year. Prior to SOPHI, she was the Accounting Head for the BPO, Lancera. Christie graduated with a BSBA degree and majored in Marketing. She also has a background in Accountancy.
Christie loves to travel. She likes to think of it as investing in memories instead of buying material things. She hates cooking but loves baking. She also likes to sing and dance - despite the lack of any singing skills.
Shortly after graduating college in 2007, Ariane Morales started her career in customer service. She worked at Teletech for almost 7 years, handling billing, health insurance, and technical support. Her experience proved to be an advantage when she worked as a Call Center Trainer at En Gedi International College. Ariane later joined SOPHI in 2013 as one of the pioneer staff of the company's growing travel account. Ariane graduated with a bachelor's degree in Mass Communications at Silliman University.
Growing up in San Diego, Ariane fell in love with Dumaguete as the city is a coastal town. As a Cali girl, she loves hanging out at the beach. She loves to travel and would like to see the Northern Lights one day. Coming from a family of four with medical degrees, she didn't hesitate to pursue a career in the BPO industry.
Ray Franco's extensive experience in the BPO industry started at Nokia, where he was the Team Leader for the company's accounts and merchandising group. He then worked in customer service at major call centers, such as Teletech, Author Solutions, and Vimle Universal Solutions, Inc. Ray graduated with a degree in Accountancy from Foundation University.
Ray is married and a proud father of two - a son and a daughter. He is a businessman, managing his own barbecue joint. On his personal time, Ray's interests include graphic design and basketball.
Josie Sedillo, Team Leader (Study Abroad Programs)
Josie Sedillo has 10 years of call center experience and has handled different lines of business from customer service, retail banking, to sales and marketing. She joined SOPHI in 2013 as an outbound agent for a study abroad campaign. She currently manages the same campaign she started in and has been instrumental in growing the project and training its agents. Josie studied Political Science at the University of San Carlos.
Josie is happily married and hopes to start a family soon. On her spare time, she enjoys reading self-help books and creating arts and crafts. She is a self-dubbed cat and dog lover.
Jayson Sollamillo is the best example of growing at SOPHI. He started working as an intern in 2013, working in the Finance Department. He later transitioned into call center operations and worked his way up to become a team leader. Jayson graduated with a bachelor of science degree in Management at SIlliman University.
Working up a sweat at the gym is one of Jayson's favorite pastimes. He is currently working on getting certified as a personal trainer. Apart from weightlifting, Jayson enjoys writing and stand-up comedy.
Prior to joining the team in 2013, Alvir Demerre worked as a promodizer for Caltex's line of lubes and oils, and she was a member of the Search & Rescue 160 Cebu team. With experience in the BPO industry since 2008, she started out as one of SOPHI's outbound sales agents for a study-abroad program based in the UK. She now manages one of the company's travel accounts in the hotel-booking space. Aside from being a full-time team leader at SOPHI, she's currently studying Culinary Arts at the International School for Hotel and Restaurant Management in Cebu.
This girl has a knack for arts and crafts. Back in the day, she used to be an organizer and host for children's parties at McDonald's. Now, she's part of the events committee at SOPHI, helping out in decorating the office during events. In her spare time, Alvir spends as much time with her husband and daughter. She also enjoys trekking, canyoneering, and fishing, among other outdoorsy activities.
Paul Pascobello's experience in the BPO industry started at Teletech in 2009. He later joined the SOPHI team in 2013 as an outbound sales agent. In 2017, he worked his way to becoming a team leader in one of the company's customer care accounts. Paul is currently studying Social Studies with a major in Education at the Negros Oriental State University.
His hobbies include swimming, playing sports, and watching his favorite TV shows -- Fashion TV, The Walking Dead, and The Amazing Race.
Sean Locsin manages one of SOPHI's biggest travel campaigns in the hotel-booking space. Prior to joining SOPHI, he worked at Teletech for almost 6 years, handling escalations and customer relations. He studied Nursing at St. Paul University Dumaguete.
Sean was born in the year of the water dog, which explains his love for dogs. It may not look like it, but he likes to eat a lot. Just give him 12 cups of rice, one whole chicken, and a 1.5-L bottle of Coke -- that'll satisfy him for the day.
Leisther Gonzaga, Team Leader (Customer Care / Technical Support)
Leisther Gonzaga has only been in the company for less than a year but quickly transitioned from quality assurance to management. His quick rise in the company is backed by his extensive background in the BPO industry, including 8 years of travel booking experience at StudentUniverse under his belt. Leisther graduated with a bachelor's degree in Political Science and a masters degree in Christian Leadership at Silliman University.
Leisther loves eating especially sweets. He's also a big nerd who loves reading books, playing table-top games, and being glued to the computer.
Since 2014, Clyde Abonin has dabbled in sales and tech support at SOPHI. Prior to joining the team, Clyde has worked with other BPOs such as Teletech and SPi Global, providing customer service in various industries. Clyde graduated with a degree in Business Administration Major in Management at Silliman University.
Clyde's hobbies include cooking, traveling, and going on long rides with his account teammates.
Ina Isabelle Taburaza, Executive Assistant to the CEO
Ina Isabelle Taburaza joined the team in 2016 as the executive assistant to the CEO. Although she's never had call center experience, Ina used to work at Kumon Dumaguete Learning Center, teaching reading and English to kids from ages 3 and up. Ina graduated with a degree in Mass Communications from Silliman University.
Ina is a singer and songwriter. She loves playing and writing songs with her favorite musical instrument -- the ukulele. She and her band frequently play at the local bars in town. Aside from music, her hobbies include photography, videography, and taking road trips with her loved ones. Ina is a dog lover too and has 2 pets.
Roxanne Johanna Yrad-Scheuer, Human Resource Officer
Roxanne Johanna started off as a tours coordinator and a travel agent in one of the travel agencies in Dumaguete. Her call center experience started in 2010 where she handled customer relations, travel booking, and quality assurance at StudentUniverse. She joined SOPHI in 2017 as a Human Resource Officer. Roxanne graduated with a degree in Psychology with a certification in Human Resource at Silliman University.
Roxanne loves the beach and the outdoors. She enjoys scuba diving, skim boarding, and stand-up paddle boarding with her husband.
April Diane Flores, Finance and Administrative Assistant
April Diane graduated with a degree in Business Administration at Silliman University and started her full-time career in finance at SOPHI. She previously worked as a part-time currency specialist in 2016.
April enjoys watching Korean drama and beauty pageants. Two of her aspirations in life are: becoming a lawyer and managing the stage for Miss Universe. Quite the extreme contrast from finance!
Petronio Noel Blanco, Human Resource and Recruitment Officer
Petronio Noel (a.k.a. Thirdy) has been working in the call center industry for almost 11 years. He's worked at BPO companies, such as Convergys and JP Morgan Chase & Co. He wanted to be in recruitment and luckily landed a position at SOPHI in 2017. Thirdy studied Computer Science at the University of Cebu at the Lapulapu and Mandaue campuses.
Thirdy's passion is singing. He is currently the lead vocalist of the Cebu-based band Purple Helmets. Performing is his stress reliever, and his daughter has always been his inspiration and motivation.
Vincent Leo Calumba (a.k.a. Jett) joined SOPHI as one of the company's agents in 2013. He was responsible for troubleshooting online e-commerce websites and then later transitioned into customer care for an online food ordering app. As a graduate of Computer Engineering from Silliman University, Jett finally started his path in information technology when he joined the Information Systems department in 2016.
Aside from computers, Jett is into horses. They are a big part of his life. He shares his love for horses with his wife, and now with his daughter. He firmly believes that a family that rides together, stays together.
Reynan Dinsay, System Administrator
Reynan Dinsay's career started in education as a college instructor at Asian College Dumaguete. He then went on to handle system administration at at New Alchemy Limited in Cebu. His experience and degree in Computer Engineering at Asian College Dumaguete paved the way for his integral role in the Information Systems department at SOPHI.
As a computer buff, Reynan's hobbies include tinkering with electronics and networks. He does them just to have fun and gain new knowledge at the same time. Oh, and he's not all about computers. He loves mountain biking, too.
